Ann Marie Wallace, Director of the Salt Lake Chamber Women`s Business Center shared tips for women to succeed in business. Women are unique in how why the start businesses; they consider work-life balance and flexibility with family responsibilities. Utah women are at the top of the list when it comes to economic clout (growth, revenue & employment) as well as number of self-employed women.
If you have a business idea, do your homework first:
1. Validate the idea: What problem will the product solve or what increased value does their innovation bring?
2. Discover the needs and preferences of the target audience who will most want or need your product.
3. Consider how your product will be distinctly different from what is already in the marketplace.
For women entrepreneurs to be most successful they need four things:
- Technical Knowledge
- A network
- Resources/Support
- Good Examples
