LOS ANGELES -- Elizabeth Smart has the unique perspective of a survivor, and she will bring those experiences back as a correspondent for season two of "Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen."
According to a press release issued Thursday, Smart will return for season two to, "use her powerful life story and unique perspective to help other survivors share their stories as she continues her quest as an advocate for victims."
In her first episode for season two, Smart sits down with rape survivor Lesley Barton, who alleges she was the victim of an attack at the hands of a tanning salon owner.
“He slammed me down on the tanning bed and he’s strangling me...and he’s using his other hand to pull down my pants,” Barton recalled.
Marc Wimmer was ultimately charged with battery, which Barton said "enraged" her, as the man only received two years of probation.
Later in season two, Smart works with the FBI to bring a serial child abductor to justice, the press release states. See the clip above courtesy crimewatchdaily.com for a preview of Smart's season two debut.
