3 Family Friendly Hikes:
• Petrified Sand Dunes
o 1.2 Miles Round Trip
o Moderate.
o Some steep slopes/uneven surfaces
o Crosses MASSIVE Navajo sandstone outcrops and sand dunes
• Johnson Canyon
o 2 miles Round Trip
o Easy
o Level with some rocky slopes and steps
o Leads to a sheltered canyon with willow and cottonwood trees.
o Stop at the wooden fence to a see a massive red rock arch spanning 200 ft
• Tempi Po`op (tumpee poo oop)
o 3.5 Miles Round Trip
o Moderate
o Some slopes and uneven surfaces
o Name means 'Rock Writing' Ancestral Puebloans and Southern Paiute

• Sandboarding @ Coral Pink
o Rent for $25 from the visitor center
o These boards are made for sand, and are best when the sand is dry
o You have sitting/sledding style or a standing style
o Similar to snowboarding with bindings but control is more difficult
• ATV @ Sand Hollow
o Very popular. One of my favorite areas.
o Sand Hollow + Sand Mountain spans 20,000 acres
o Rentals available @ The Beach at Sand Hollow.
ATVs, Side-by-Sides, snacks, goggles, helmets
o All riding abilities. Guided tours also available.
• Rock Climbing @ Snow Canyon
o Close to town, right in the St. George/Ivins area.
o OVER 170 designated routes within the park.

o Pick up a map of the routs from the visitor center
Permits are required for arch canyon and Island in the Sky
o Hop over to Tuachan theatre for some plays afterward
