Streaks of light near Utah State Capitol likely Nitro Circus performers, Lt. Gov. says

SALT LAKE CITY — FOX 13 received several reports and a few video clips showing streaks of light that were visible in the sky over Salt Lake City Monday night.

The streaks prompted speculation that they could have been meteors (as the Perseid meteor shower happens to be underway) or space junk breaking up as it reentered the atmosphere.

But new footage sent to FOX 13 clearly shows parachutists using pyrotechnics near the Utah State Capitol.

"For those wondering, I’m pretty sure those lights were the Nitro Circus guys in wing suits with some pyrotechnics landing at the Capitol tonight," Lt. Governor Spencer Cox wrote on Twitter.
