Department of Health reports highest daily increase in COVID-19 cases to date

The Utah Department of Health has released new COVID-19 numbers for the state.

The statewide lab-confirmed total is now 11,798, an increase of 546 new cases.

6,939 cases are considered to be recovered.

890 people have been hospitalized since March, an increase of 20 new cases since Friday. There are currently 116 people hospitalized in connection to the virus.

2,952 new tests have been conducted, bringing the statewide total to 235.149.

One new death has also been reported. We now have 121 deaths in Utah in connection to COVID-19.

The new death is a man from Weber County, over the age of 85 who was in a long-term care facility.
