SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 report for Tuesday shows Utah now has 47,157 positive cases, an increase of 263 since Monday's report, and five new deaths.
606,516 people in Utah have been tested for the disease and the state's rolling seven-day average for positive cases is 341 per day.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,804 people in Utah have required hospitalization for COVID-19 and 134 remain hospitalized.
369 people in Utah have now died of COVID-19. The five new deaths reported Tuesday are:
- Male, between 25 and 44, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 45 and 64, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
- Male, older than 85, Box Elder County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, between 65 and 84, Weber County resident, hospitalized prior to death
38,555 of Utah's cases—nearly 82 percent—are considered "recovered." A case with a diagnosis date of more than three weeks ago, who has not passed away, is considered recovered.
