SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 report for Tuesday shows an increase of 1,081 confirmed cases—bringing the state's total to 96,643—and five additional deaths.
So far, 986,424 people in Utah have been tested for COVID-19. The state's rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 1,251 per day, and the rolling seven-day average for the percent of positive tests is 14.8.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,753 people in Utah have required hospitalization for COVID-19. Of those, 291 remain hospitalized.
551 people in Utah have died of COVID-19. The five additional deaths announced Tuesday are:
- Male, between 65-84, San Juan County resident, not hospitalized
- Female, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
- Female, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized
- Male, between 45-64, Cache County resident, hospitalized
71,693 of Utah's COVID-19 cases are considered "recovered." A case with a diagnosis date of more than three weeks ago, who has not passed away, is considered recovered.
