Health Dept: 2,543 more COVID-19 cases in Utah; 12 additional deaths

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 report for Friday shows an increase of 2,543 confirmed cases—bringing the state's total to 320,102—and 12 additional deaths.

So far, 142,751 vaccine doses have been administered.

UDOH reports 1,884,601 people in Utah have been tested for the disease. The state's rolling seven-day average for the number of positive tests is 2,391 per day, and the seven-day average for the percent of positive tests is 25.

584 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

1,472 people in Utah have died of the disease. The 12 deaths announced Friday are:

  • between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • older than 85, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • between 65-84, Washington County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • between 65-84, Weber County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
