Health Dept.: 376 new COVID-19 cases in Utah; 1 new death

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health’s COVID-19 report for Sunday shows 376 new positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 44,127.

One new death was reported, a Cache County man between the ages of 45 and 64, bringing the death toll to 336.

7,255 people were tested for the virus, bringing the testing total to 566,355. The 7-day average percentage for positive lab tests is 9.1%, averaging in 411 positive tests per day.

There are currently 196 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. That is out of a total of 2,620 hospitalizations since the beginning of the outbreak here in Utah.

78 of those patients are in intensive care, with 63.9% of ICU beds in the State of Utah being occupied with COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients.

33,914 people have recovered from the virus.
