Latest Department of Health numbers show half a million Utahns tested for COVID-19

The Utah Department of Health has released the latest COVID-19 numbers for the state.

There are now 37,623 lab-confirmed cases, an increase of 661 since Friday.

Approximately 24,390 of those cases are considered recovered, having tested positive three weeks ago and not passing away from the virus.

6,068 new tests have been conducted, bringing the statewide total to 500,139.

One new death has been reported, bringing the amount of Utahns to have died from COVID-19 to 274.

The new death is a man from Davis County between the ages of 65 and 84 who was a resident of a long-term care facility.
