KEARNS, Utah — TestUtah is opening a new COVID-19 testing facility to serve the community of Kearns.

"According to the latest figures, COVID-19 continues to disproportionately impact Hispanic communities in Utah, including Kearns Park, where the population is 35.5% Hispanic. By providing Kearns Park residents access to nearby testing, TestUtah aims to mitigate the spread of COVID-19," a news release from TestUtah said.

Free COVID-19 testing is now available at Kearns Oquirrh Park, 5624 Cougar Ln.

"The numbers are raising out here. We've seen some spikes and we're very concerned about how COVID is affecting the group out here. One of the biggest things that has been one of our number one concerns is that most people out here work in jobs that are considered essential," said Laurie Stringam, Vice-Chair, Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center.
