More than 850,000 people in Utah tested for COVID-19; more than 1,000 new cases, two new deaths reported Saturday

The Utah Department of Health reported more than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

New Cases
1,068 new cases have been reported, bringing the statewide total to 76,225.

Tests given
An additional 7,097 tests were given. 852,680 people in Utah have now been tested for COVID-19.
The statewide rolling seven-day average is now 951 per day, or approximately 13.9% of those tested.

Recoveries
Approximately 56,751 cases are considered recovered, for a total of roughly 19,474 active cases.

Hospitalizations
176 people are currently hospitalized in connection to the virus. 3,956 people have been hospitalized since march.

Deaths
Two new deaths have been reported, bringing the statewide death toll to 476.
The two new deaths include:

  • Male, between 65-84, Wasatch County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, older than 85, Juab County resident, long-term care facility resident
