Utah Department of Health reports six new deaths, 506 new COVID-19 cases.

The Utah Department of Health has updated the statewide COVID-19 numbers.

There are now 40,702 lab-confirmed cases, an increase of 506 since Friday.

The rolling 7-day average of positive cases is 431, or 9.9% of those tested.

Approximately 28,747 cases are considered recovered, having tested positive three weeks ago and not passing away in connection to the virus.

210 people are currently hospitalized. There have been 2,412 hospitalizations since March.

Six new deaths have been reported, bringing the statewide total to 310.

The newly reported fatalities include:

  • Female, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Female, between 65-84, San Juan County resident, hospitalized time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, between 45-64, Utah County resident, hospitalized time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Male, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized prior to death
