The Bonneville Shoreline Trail, located in Cottonwood Heights, has been acquired for preservation by Utah Open Lands.
Comprised of over 25 acres, the trail is a natural open space at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

A public fundraising campaign raised hundreds of private donations from residents and landowners. Substantial contributions from the cities of Cottonwood Heights, Sandy, Draper, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County also helped to fund the acquisition.
Utah Public Lands is currently finalizing steps to bring the property into public ownership, and dedicate it to Cottonwood Heights, preserving it from public development forever.
