The deadline for the mother of two missing children to reveal them to authorities in Rexburg, Idaho has come and gone.

But this past weekend, we learned new details about what Lori Vallow Daybell and her husband Chad Daybell have been planning since her children J.J. and Tylee disappeared.

Long before the video emerged of the couple walking in Hawaii after being served with a search warrant, they were shopping for places to live on that same island just 2 weeks after the death of Chad’s first wife Tammy was buried in Utah.

Jeani Martin met with them on Nov. 7. The couple wanted to rent a master bedroom from her. She says they seemed like giddy newlyweds while there, even talking about all of their kids.

Martin says the deal with the Daybells fell through, but Chad did submit an application, calling himself “an author looking for a peaceful place to write... Looking for a rental for myself and my new wife that lives here on Kauai.”

Martin also says they exchanged several texts — some even talking about Tammy`s death, saying in part: "Tammy's Passing was such a shock" and '"At her burial I felt her tell me she was happy and already busy helping our family on the other side of the veil."

But it wasn't until last week that she knew any of the news about the couple.

But as news continues to further the mystery behind the disappearance of JJ and Tylee, Martin looks back on her meeting with a different light.

"Just the way they were in my house, so happy and free, and now I'm thinking, 'Free of the spouses, free of the kids,'" Martin said in an interview with FOX 10 Phoenix.
