TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — A child hit by a car in Stansbury Park on Wednesday is in stable condition.
According to Sgt. Chris Bishop with the Utah Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Stansbury Parkway and state Route 138.
The 10-year-old was taken to Primary Children's Hospital, according to a GoFundMe page set up by the child's family, after being struck by a truck while she was walking her bicycle across the crosswalk on the way to Old Mill Elementary School.
According to the page, the girl had non-life-threatening injuries but is in a "great deal of pain" and will be required to stay in the hospital for some time.
Her aunt, who set up the page, said her biggest concerns were that the paramedics had to cut her favorite sweatshirt off of her and that her bicycle was totaled.
The GoFundMe will be used to raise money for a new bicycle for her and for medical expenses.
