SALT LAKE CITY — The Treasury Department moved Tax Day from April 15th to July 15th to help people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
IRS workers are slowly returning back to the office, which means there could be a delay with your refund. The IRS is expecting 150 million returns and so far they've received 139 million.
In most cases, you must file and pay your taxes by July 15th but if you need more time you can request an extension, which would give you until October 15th.
The quickest way to file your taxes is electronically but be aware of any scam phone calls or emails. Any correspondence from the IRS will be delivered through regular mail. For more information, go to IRS.gov
