PROVO, Utah — Police are warning drivers about the consequences of driving with an illegal license plate.
Provo Police Department says its Traffic Enforcement Team has stopped multiple motorists displaying black license plates with white lettering.
They report being told the plates were ordered online using a plate number issued by the DMV.
Even though they have a plate number issued by the DMV, these plates are illegal, and can result in a ticket and the DMV suspending your registration.
