SALT LAKE CITY — San Juan County is 10.5 times bigger than Salt Lake County in terms of square miles.
In terms of population, it’s 75 times smaller.
That’s good for the solitude and unparalleled beauty of the landscape, but it’s bad for stringing cable for high speed internet.
Enter Aaron Brewer the technology director for the San Juan County School District. He won’t tell you he’s all that.
“When you walk into a room, you want to be the dumbest guy in the room,” Brewer says.
It’s his philosophy of managing a team…surrounding yourself with talent.
But Brewer is the man with the plan for a LAN. A Local Area Network.
It’s a plan that just got funded with federal CARES act money that may open a whole new world to students unfairly disconnected, from a technology standpoint.
“That's what we want to do is enhance the lives of our students,” said Brewer.
