SLC teachers to participate in 'Walk for Students' Friday

SALT LAKE CITY — Teachers in the Salt Lake City School District have scheduled a walkout for Friday, Feb. 28 in protest of the Utah State Legislature and to push for more funding for public education.

With a majority of a teacher in the SLCSD participating in the "Walk for Students," schools in the district will be having half days on Friday. In a letter sent to students, schools will be releasing at either 11:45 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.

The walkout and march will begin at 1 p.m. at the Bennett Building located at 125 S State St. and continue to the Capitol where they will call for public education funding to be a top priority in the legislature.
