The Utah Legislature has considered a bill or resolution regarding Daylight Saving Time every year since 2009, but this year one of the bills may actually become law for the first time.
Sen. Wayne Harper (R-Taylorsville) is sponsoring SB52, which would make Utah observe Daylight Saving year round — only if Congress approves and four other states in the West follow suit.
The bill passed the State Senate on a vote of 26-2 and goes to the State House.
