Shelter in place lifted after threat of violence at Layton's NUAMES High

LAYTON, Utah — NUAMES High School in Layton has lifted a shelter-in-place protocol that was briefly in effect Tuesday.

NUAMES High is part of the WSU Davis Campus. A WSU spokeswoman told FOX 13 someone sent several text messages to the SAFE UT hotline threatening violence at the school.

"Weber State police were able to identify the caller through an IP address and make an arrest without incident. The individual has been booked in the Davis County Jail," a news release from Weber State University said.

Read a message sent to the parents of NUAMES High students:

NUAMES Parents,

We have lifted the `shelter in place¿ order and students are now free to move about the campus. We will follow the schedule below for the remainder of the school day: lunch will end at 12:15

7th period: 12:15 -1:30 pm

8th period: 1:45- 3:00 pm

Know that no student will be marked absent from lunchtime on today. We want to express our profound appreciation for our students, teachers and parents for their cooperation and patience during this situation.
