A wallet was returned to an Ohio sheriff more than a decade after he lost it

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio — A long-lost wallet has been reunited with its owner more than a decade after it was lost, thanks to some children playing in the woods in their neighborhood.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones tweeted Tuesday morning that Chad Oberholtzer and his kids, Brooke and Drew, discovered the wallet when the kids were playing a game in the woods near their home. The wallet has been lost for at least 12 years.

The tweet showed photos of the wallet's contents, which included an old driver's license bearing his name and photo, several cards and a muddy, worn Butler County Sheriff's badge, leaving no question of to whom the discovered wallet belonged.
