HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A woman who lived part-time in Salt Lake City and part-time in Henrico County, Virginia died in late July after she was hit by a Jeep while taking her morning walk in Henrico County.

Lucy Le, who would have turned 77 on September 5, was only steps away from her daughter's front door when the Jeep backed into her, according to a report by WTVR-TV.

Le's daughter, Laura Pho, visits the crash scene, where a roadside memorial bursts with chalk art, on a daily basis.

Pho has joined the non-profit group Sports Backers and its Bike Walk RVA program to advocate for a safer infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians.

“All of the people who are victims of traffic violence, fatalities or injuries... those are the heroes. It is incumbent upon us to move their legacy forward and make the streets safer," Pho said in an interview with WTVR.
