SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah — Two San Juan County residents have been cleared of any risk for infection after the two were actively monitored for symptoms of coronavirus after returning to Utah from mainland China where novel coronavirus is actively spreading.
The monitoring run by San Juan Public Health and Utah Navajo Health System, is precautionary and the residents are not infected with the virus. The Utah Department of Health and Center for Disease Control and Prevention are monitoring to ensure if symptoms of coronavirus are developed in the residents, that it is contained.
Monitoring includes recording temperature twice a day, look out for symptoms and limit exposure to social gatherings.
The residents were identified by public health efforts to find anyone who may have been exposed to the virus, according to San Juan Public Health.
There are currently no confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in the state of Utah.
