PROVO, Utah — Charges against sophomore BYU Linebacker Chaz Ah You, including suspicions of DUI, have been dropped by the county attorney due to a decline to prosecute, according to court documents.

In a press release from the Utah County Attorney, Daid Leavitt said the ccase was declined on the basis of lack of admissible evidence.

Ah You was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 9 in Eagle Mountain. He was stopped along Red Hawk Road and Pony Express Parkway, where he was reported to be driving 75 mph in a 35 mph zone and following vehicles too closely, according to a probable cause statement.

Due to a reckless driving patterned observed by the arresting officer, a search of the vehicles, officers discovered two containers of alcohol and a THC vape pen. A field sobriety test was administered by an officer at the Utah County Jail due to weather conditions.

During the test, officers asked Ah You to count to 30, where Ah you reportedly struggled in the first attempt, so officers offered the test again with the same result.

Ah You was arrested and taken to the Utah County Jail for the offenses of drinking in or about a vehicle, driving under the influence, improper lane change, reckless driving and speeding.

Ah You plead not guilty to all charges before having his case dismissed.
