In 2020 we've pretty much all lived on our devices.
So, how do you stay engaged but not overuse social media?
Digital Expert Natalie Zfat told us that 72 percent of adults say their social media consumption has gone way up this year. So, she gave us three tips to help keep us in check.
- Focus on Quality Over Quantity. Natalie says if you have an app on your phone that monitors how much social media you're using, delete it. Natalie says just like a scale when you're checking your weight too much, it can be detrimental to your overall goal.
- Be Mindful of What You're Sharing. Natalie says there's so much misinformation on social media, especially about COVID-19 and the vaccine that you should check, double check and triple check your sources before you hit that share button.
- Just Like Mom Taught You... Watch Your Mouth. You can share ideas and opinions, but Natalie says steer clear of "trigger territories" where you know you'll disagree. Try to be nice!
