June is "Oral Health Month", a good time to re-evaluate your brushing and flossing techniques.

We talked with renowned dentist, Dr. Fan Sun, DDS, who is also the CTO at Brushmo.

He says most people don't brush for the recommended two minutes, and the reason why could be manual toothbrushes.

That's why Dr. Sun says he recommends to his patients an electric toothbrush, and specifically Brushmo Supersonic Toothbrush to ensure a more complete and personalized clean.

It delivers more than 33,000 brush strokes per minute, includes a 2-minute timer, has 5 brushing modes and comes with four brush heads tailored to different needs: plaque removal with a power tip, sensitive, whitening and a larger total-clean head.

Dr. Sun says flossing is just as critical as brushing, it reaches the spaces your toothbrush can't, especially between teeth and under the gumline.

There are a lot of floss options, but expandable floss is better because it better conforms to the spaces between your teeth.

Dr. Sun recommends Brushmo's Black Floss. "It does all of this and is also black which makes it easier to see the plaque it removes, it's oddly satisfying," Dr. Sun says.

We also talked with Dr. Sun about how AI is transforming dentistry. It's already being used in dental offices for things like early cavity detection, and 3D crown modeling.

But beyond the clinic, Dr. Sun says there's a huge potential for AI in everyday preventive care.

He is actually helping Brushmo develop an AI-powered app that can analyze your brushing habits, plaque distribution, and even your dietary choices to deliver personalized recommendations—whether it's the right toothbrush head, floss, or routine.

"Think of it as having a virtual hygienist in your pocket, helping you care for your smile between dental visits. We're really excited about it—I can't share all the details just yet, but it's coming soon, so stay tuned," says Dr. Sun.
