Our partners at Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah introduced us to an amazing organization helping some of our state's most vulnerable residents.

Volunteers of America is a support group for individuals to break their silence of mental illness, homelessness and addiction and come out of the darkness.

The coronavirus has impacted not only the day-to-day operations of Volunteers of America, but also fundraising as well. Since March, Volunteers of America, Utah has had to pivot all fundraising efforts to online as much as the world has done as well.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Silver Spurs: Hoedown for Hope event. Instead of a one night event, they've had to reinvent it into a virtual broadcast party from September 8-11.

Each night has a western themed event including learning how to make tasty cocktails, mocktails and beertails, learning to cook the best BBQ, a line dancing class and joining the Silent No More Auction community by donating directly to the programs and receiving art from local artists.

Unfortunately the event kits for the full event are no longer for sale, but you can still be involved and join each night by visiting Facebook.com/voaut as each activity will be posted at 7pm nightly.

You can still join in on the fun! The Silent No More Auction is an opportunity to give and help keep the programs running all month long. There's a cause for every donor to get behind like providing meals for youth at the Youth Resource Center, buying Co-Pay coverage at the Family Counseling Center and much more.

As a thank you, Volunteers of America have partnered with local artists to gift donors beautiful prints, unique to each program, as a reminder of the impact made in the lives of Utah's most vulnerable.
