If "Ultimate Tag" sounds like a crazy version of everyone's favorite childhood game, well, it is. Hosted by JJ Watt and his NFL star brothers TJ and Derek, the show pits three male and three female contestants against a set of pro-taggers who chase them around an obstacle-filled field.

One of the taggers is Brooke Ence, a University of Utah graduate and international fitness icon with an Instagram following of more than 1.4 million, along with film credits including breakout roles in WONDER WOMEN, and JUSTICE LEAGUE.

We talked to Brooke about "Ultimate Tag" over Zoom. She said there was a super last-minute opportunity to audition for the show, and after a greuling obstacle course at a full sprint, she landed the adrenaline-pumping gig as "The Boss" to tag contestants on Fox's newest competition show.

But the road that led Brooke to Hollywood and to become one of the most respected CrossFit stars wasn't easy. After competing in the CrossFit arena since 2015, she suffered significant wear and tear on her shoulders in 2017. Doctors recommended a major surgery that would take her away from CrossFit competitions, but she chose instead an investigational treatment -- injections of stem cells. Now, after a few treatments and 3 years later, Brooke is back to intense training and is ready to not only take on competitors on Fox but to make her first appearance to a national CrossFit competition in 5 years. Referring to herself as the "professional underdog," Brooke is taking in the small moments during her rigorous training program. Being able to see the people that marvel at her abilities once the closures and shutdowns are lifted rather than the place she would finish has put her future in fitness back into perspective.

"Ultimate Tag" airs Wednesdays at 7 pm MST on Fox13. Find out more at https://www.fox.com/ultimate-tag/.
