A lot of children have been left without means of an early education now that all schools are closed.

And, while parents want to help, they can feel overwhelmed that they're not teachers.

WaterfordUpstart.orgis here to help -- right now they're enrolling children into their summer bridge to help them prepare for kindergarten in the fall.

Kim Fischer, Director of Public Relations at Waterford Upstart, says all you need to do is log on to WaterfordUpstart.org/SummerLearningBridge to log in, sign up and do it with your kids throughout the summer to get them ready. It's suggested they do it five days a week, 25 minutes a day to get the full benefit.

Fischer says they are also registering for children for Waterford Upstart 2020-2021 that will begin this fall. With so many uncertainties right now, it will be very important for families to have some kind of academic tool during this school year. This is done in the home, so no matter what happens with local schools, parents will be covered.

Fischer also wanted to remind everyone that if your child is going to be in kindergarten this fall, register them. It's probably not at the top of the priority list right now, but it's actually more important than ever for schools. They need to know how many students will be in the classroom so they can prepare.
