Put a Halloween costume together without spending a dime

Personal Stylist and Wardrobe Consultant Dani Slaugh says most of us have everyday costume pieces.

It's the item that's somewhat unusual, that you have to work harder to combine with something else.
They don't go with just anything, they need something specific to complete the look. They usually have some sort of decoration that makes them interesting and confines them to a certain mood or feel.

So how do you take those costume pieces and turn them into an actual Halloween costume? Consider the stereotype associated with this less than basic piece. Then google the costumes that fall under the stereotype.

Here are a few ideas for some last minute costumes - they're quick, easy and inexpensive.
• Turn a trench coat into a Femme Fatal
• Pin-striped pants into a Gangster
• Use a funky black and white vest to be a Witch Doctor
• Sequence or metallic clothes can be transformed into a Disco Diva
