Russell "Rusty" Butler of Christ United Methodist Church has been working tirelessly during the pandemic to aid members of the community who've found themselves in devastating positions.

Rusty was named a 'Mazda Hero' at a special event hosted by D. Dahle Mazda. Rychardz Benns from D. Dahle Mazda awarded Rusty for his efforts with a brand new Mazda MX-5 Miata 100th Anniversary Edition.

The 'Mazda Heroes: Honoring the Human Spirit' program aims to place a spotlight on individuals across the country who dedicated themselves to their communities throughout 2020.

Mazda North American Operations has selected 50 deserving people across the country to receive the cars.

Rusty was selected in Utah due to his work as pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Salt Lake. At the start of the pandemic Rusty created a pop-up housing initiative in his church to assist local homeless families by providing them with shelter at the church.
