SLCC welcoming students back to campus this fall

Everyone's excited to move forward in this year, and Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) is adapting to the new environment.

We were joined by Seth Miller who says the college is excited to welcome students back to campus in the fall. The college's first priority, of course, is the health and safety of the campus community.

Face coverings are required on campus, and that includes all learning spaces and other locations where social distancing is not possible. Miller says face masks or face shields will be available to students who don't have an appropriate face covering.

SLCC is offering several course options for students. The three main are:

  1. Traditional in the classroom - face coverings required and social distancing protocols in effect. This also includes labs, and safety protocols are being developed for each lab setting.
  2. Online - offering more online courses than typical to accommodate the demand for remote learning.
  3. Hybrid Classes - classes are a mix between on-campus and online. Designed to reduce the number of students in a classroom at any given time, SLCC is investing in technology to make this happen.

SLCC will also be equipped to offer several other services including advising, health and counseling center appointments and orientation.
