Films are perhaps a better kind of screen time for kids! Davey Davis with the Utah Film Center shared his favorite part of the 9th annual Tumbleweeds Film Festival for Kids: The free activities!

The festival happens on March 6-8, 2020 and March 13-15, 2020 at Library Square in Salt Lake City, and is for ages 4 and up. In addition to stories from around the world, the festival features free "Clubhouse activities" in the library's Urban Room (atrium) on Saturday and Sunday of each festival weekend.

Davey introduced us to Audra Sorensen with Clark Planetarium, who showed us a new virtual reality experience coming to the Planetarium that allows you to control the Mars Rover. Festival attendees can try it for free as part of the Clubhouse lineup!

In addition to the activities and public screenings, Tumbleweeds is hosting 22 FREE festival field trips for Utah schools where students receive discussion guides to continue the enrichment when they return to their classrooms.
