Travel expert Larry Gelwix from Columbus Travel weighed in on whether or not you should take a cruise, amid COVID-19 concerns.

He said that he doesn't want to downplay the severity, especially because there have been lives lost and affected, but he did say that travel is now a buyer's market.

"I've never in 40 years seen travel prices this low," Larry said. "A Caribbean cruise for $200, or round-trip airfare to Hawaii for $300."

Larry said don't be afraid to book a cruise for summer or Fall, just make sure that the deposit is refundable. He said Norwegian and Viking cruises have updated their cancellation policies to be within 48 hours of departure to receive at least a full travel credit for the future, if not a full refund.

Larry also reminded us about the upcoming New Zealand trip happening January 10-23, 2021, escorted by he and Cathy Gelwix. Land tour rates from $3,595 per person, and you get unique experiences such as Glacier Valley Walk, Scenic Cruise on a Vintage Steamship across Lake Wakatipu, Hobbiton Movie Set Tour, and more!
