Excessive heat watches and warnings as triple-digit temperatures hit Utah

Posted at 7:17 AM, Jul 30, 2020

It is heating up today!

Thursday will see close to 100 degrees in Salt Lake City, with lows in the 70s. Expect triple digit heat through Monday.

An "Excessive heat WARNING" will start at noon today and last through Saturday for southwest Utah (Utah's Dixie and Zion National Park).

An "Excessive Heat WATCH" Friday-Saturday for south central Utah and Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell.

No major cool downs anytime soon. Heat related deaths are preventable, so that’s the most important headline—being careful in the heat.

Weekend temperatures will be near record highs for parts of the state.
