SALT LAKE CITY — A strong high pressure will build across the area today and tomorrow, bringing record to near record heat. The warmest day is expected to be Friday, but temperatures will only cool off slightly over the weekend. Afternoon high temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees in the lowest valleys of far southern Utah through Saturday.
