Valley snow is expected to transition to rain or a rain/snow mix in most Northern Valleys this afternoon. Heavy snow will likely continue in the Northern Mountains. Strong gusty winds are also likely in the mountains as well as across Southwest Wyoming, Western Uinta Basin, Castle Country, and the San Rafael Swell.

SALT LAKE CITY

Thursday: Snow in the morning: 2 inches on the valley floor, 2-4 inches on the benches. A rain/snow mix in the afternoon. Highs: Near 40.

Thursday Night: Rain & snow in the valley. 1 inch of new snow on the benches. Lows: Mid 30s.

ST. GEORGE

Thursday: Becoming sunny. Highs: Mid 50s.

Thursday Night: Clear. Lows: Near 30.
