Freestyle skier Sarah Burke remains in critical condition Monday after sustaining serious injuries while training at Park City Mountain Resort last week.
Burke’s family released a statement reading, “The family wants to express their deep appreciation for the overwhelming support Sarah has received from all over the world. They ask everyone continue to keep Sarah and Rory [her husband] in their prayers.”
Hospital officials cancelled a press conference Monday morning after the family said there was no good news to share about the skier’s progress.
Burke remains in critical condition at the University of Utah hospital.
Burke was training for the X Games when she landed a trick wrong in a superpipe and damaged an artery.
Doctors say it is too soon to determine a prognosis, but a press release suggests the latest test and assessments didn’t look good.
Burke’s family remains at her bedside. Her fans and friends are showing support on her facebook and twitter pages.
