Davies leads BYU to 77-64 victory over Pepperdine

Junior Brandon Davies scored 29 points to lead the BYU men’s basketball team to a 77-64 victory over Pepperdine Saturday.

Davies’ 29 points was a career high for the forward out of Provo. He added 6 rebounds and nailed 15 out of 18 free throws.

Senior Noah Hartsock added 20 points, moving him up to more than 1000 career points. Senior Charles Abouo scored 15 points.

Pepperdine (7-12, 1-7 WCC) held a lead for the first few minutes of the game, but BYU (17-5, 6-2 WCC) was able to come back and led 42-29 at the half. Despite only hitting 8 field goals in the second half, free throws were able to keep the Cougars on top; BYU made a season-high 29 free throws in the game.

BYU will face Virginia Tech on Wednesday at 7 p.m. EST (5 p.m. MST).
