A second-hand report of a man with a gun prompted “limited” lockdowns at Riverton High School and Herriman High School Wednesday afternoon.
A message from the Jordan School District was relayed by the Herriman City twitter account. It said: “Two of our high schools were placed on a limited lock down by the Unified Police Department. All students from Riverton and Herriman High will be delayed a few minutes in arriving home. All students are safe and police are investigating the situation.”
The lockdowns were placed around 1:40 p.m. and lifted between 2:30 and 3 p.m.
Police were searching the areas around both schools but have not located a suspect.
