The 14 seed Brigham Young University Cougars weren’t able to come back from a double-digit deficit Thursday as they fell to Marquette in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Just two days after defeating Iona in the largest comeback in NCAA Tournament history, BYU wasn’t able to make a similar turnaround on Thursday as the 3 seed Golden Eagles moved to face 6-seeded Murray State on Saturday.

The Cougars fell behind 49-34 at halftime and weren’t able to make up the deficit in the second half as Marquette pulled ahead with the 88-68 victory.

Brandon Davies scored 19 points and 11 rebounds and Noah Hartsock added 15 points for BYU. Jae Crowder scored 25 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and 5 steals for Marquette.
