WEST VALLEY CITY — The Utah Department of Transportation will buy the remaining homes in West Valley City that are in the path of the new Mountain View Corridor.
UDOT will spend up to $30 million purchasing the remaining 90 homes.
The homes include residences along the route of the highway between 3500 South and 4700 South. The money will also help relocate the residents.
“We just have a lot of people who have known about this project for quite some time and all they’ve wanted to know over the years is when we were going to buy their home, so now we’ll be able to give them an answer to that question,” says project director Terri Newell.
The new Mountain View Corridor will run north and south at about 5800 West. The first phase of the project is schedules to be complete late this year.
