SALT LAKE CITY — Fire fighters say the fire and resulting sprinkler flood at the LDS Conference Center created damages estimated around $500,000.
They say the fire started in the mechanical room near a bank of backup batteries. The batteries are to help power the building’s generator.
They say the fire does not appear intentional.
Nearly 45 Salt Lake City firefighters responded Monday night.
