St. George police looking for rape suspect

Police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked and raped a woman on a jogging trail in St. George on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old woman was headed south toward the tunnel that runs beneath Sunset Boulevard when she was attacked and knocked to the ground.  She told police she was raped before fighting off the man and running away.

Several nearby businesses are reviewing their surveillance tapes in an attempt to locate video of the suspect, according to the St. George Police Department.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, about 5 foot 8 inches tall and with a medium build.  He has brown or hazel eyes and was wearing a bandana on his head, a black short sleeve shirt and black pants during the attach.
