UTA is working on a new texting system that will use the buses GPS systems to track them and notify those waiting at stops.
Once the system is up and running, you will be able to send a text message with your bus stop number. Then UTA will respond with a text telling you the projected wait time for a bus.
"Basically it's a way to find out when the next bus will be coming and departing from that stop even if you don't have a bus schedule," said Gerry Carpenter, UTA spokesman.
Carpenter said the bus stop text system will not be rolled out for another few months. UTA is working out the bugs and getting use input.
