No charges for Ogden HS cheerleaders accused of hazing

OGDEN, Utah – Nine cheerleaders at Ogden High School will not face criminal charges for allegedly hazing fellow teens.

Police say senior members of the cheerleading squad initiated new members in early May by blindfolding them, taking them to a park and covering them in condiments. A parent and teacher approached the school district and the nine teens were suspended.

Weber County Attorney Dee Smith says the girls’ actions do not merit a criminal indictment and any further disciplinary action will be left up to the school.
