Leigh Dethman, from the Utah Department of Transportation, spoke with Good Day Utah on Friday about trouble spots on the roads over the weekend.
Hawaii @ BYU and Utah County:
BYU takes on Hawaii Friday night at 6 p.m. in Provo. Fans hoping to make it to LaVell Edwards Stadium in time for kickoff should prepare for traffic and construction as part of the UDOT I-15 CORE project. UDOT recommends leaving Salt Lake City by 4 p.m. to allow for extra travel time.
UDOT also recommends using the Provo Center Street, Orem 800 North and Orem Center Street exits as alternate routes to University Parkway.
The southbound I-15 lane restriction in Orem was removed this week. Four lanes in the area are now open.
Westbound commuter lanes along SR-92 (Timpanogos Highway) will close Friday at 9 p.m. and reopen Saturday at 6 a.m.
Salt Lake County:
The collector ramp on southbound I-15 from 900 South to 2100 South will close Friday night and reopen on Sunday morning.
The ramps at 1300 South, 2100 South and SR-201 will also be closed.
All construction work depends on weather and other conditions. For the latest on UDOT closures and restrictions, visit www.udot.utah.gov, follow @UtahDOTon twitter, utahdot on Facebook or download one of the free UDOT apps for iPhone and Android.
