SALT LAKE CITY – A suspected intoxicated pedestrian was hit and killed in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday night.
Salt Lake City police say a man was jaywalking near 350 South and 400 West just before 10 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a pickup truck heading northbound on 400 West.
The man was transported to University of Utah Medical Center in critical condition and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police don’t know why the man was walking in the middle of the road but police suspect alcohol was involved.
The female driver of the pickup truck was not cited.
